Nigeria: Offa Bank Robbery Kingpin Ex. Police Corporal Adikwu Arrested

The kingpin and mastermind of the Offa kwara State, Nigeria bank robbery has been arrested by the Police. Ex Police Officer Michael Adikwu who was dismissed from the Nigerian Police Kwara State Division in 2012 was the mastermind of the robbery attack on several banks in the state which claimed more than 30 lives including 9 Policemen on April 5, 2018.

  Michael Adikwu was arrested on Tuesday May 8, 2018 in Kwara State by the Operatives of the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response led by DSP Abba Kyari following a tip off from members of the public who saw Adikwu's picture as among those declared wanted by the police.

Michael Adikwu and other members of his gang were declared wanted and a ransom of Five Million Naira placed on their head by the State Government following a CCTV footage of their pictures that was released to the members of the public.

Michael Adikwu before his dismissal worked with the Kwara State Special Anti Robbery Squad of the Nigerian Police where he was accused of abating crimes and providing escape routes for criminals in police custody. He was dismissed from the police and charge to court where he was imprisoned for three years before he was released.

After his released he setup a robbery gang and began to rob and terrorist the state. Some criminals who were arrested by the police have accused hm of working together with them. The Nigerian Police and Interpol have placed other members of the robbery gang on their watch list.
