The Bokoharam Terrorist Group operating in Northeast Nigeria especially in Borno State has adopted a new method of carrying out suicide bombings by using aged men and women who disguise as weak and feeble travelers.

According to the Nigerian Military and spokesperson of the Operation Lafia Dole Colonel Onyema Nwachukwu, this latest tactics was unusual and sharp deviation from the norm in which teenage boys and girls were used for suicide bombing by the Bokoharam Terrorists.

This new method of suicide attack led to the death of three members of the Civilian Joint Task Force popularly called Civilian JTF who are in the frontline with the military fighting Bokoharam.
On Monday May 14, 2018 an elderly man who was pretending to be weak and feeble took the members of the Civilian JTF when he detonated his suicide vest close to the checkpoint because the security agencies did not expect old men and women to be used as suicide bombers.
