The commissioner, who confirmed the attack to newsmen in Gusau, said the abductors took away his wife and their three children, and three other relatives.
“They have not yet demanded for any ransom from us. In fact, we have not discussed anything with them, but we have reported the matter to security agencies,” he said.

Zamfara State has witnessed several security issues with increasing rate of killings, arms banditry and cattle rustling along its Birni-gwari boarder. Hundreds of people have been killed in the process and reports has it that armed Fulani Militia brandish sophisticated weapons with impunity and security agencies have not being able to curb the situation.

Security analysts have said that the peculiar nature of Zamfara State being a boarder state with Niger makes the security situation more complicated.
