Governor Wike while addressing the congregation said the planned assassination will take place in a crowded gathering and will be termed accidental discharge.
The Governor pointed accusing fingers on the Inspector General of Police IGP Ibrahim Idris and the Minister of Transport Rotimi Amaechi.

Reacting to the allegation, the media aide to President Mr Femi Adesina said the governor is just making frivolous and unguided comments which is typical of opposition politics.

On the part of the Inspector General of Police, Governor Wike said the IGP ignored the constitutional immunity he enjoys and tried to search his house until he was stopped by the court.

You will recall that sometime last year Governor Wike made a similar allegation of plans to assassinate him. When interviewed Wike said the plotters of the assassination had to drop the plan last year because their agenda was leaked to the public but he insisted that the intelligence available to him proves that the plan has been re-initiated.

The governor refused to mention the source o the intelligence and information saying it was not in the interest of the whistle blower.

The Ruling All Progressive Congress APC has reacted to the allegation by saying that it was a false alarm.
