The President of the Nigerian Senate Bukola Saraki has accused the Government of President Mohammed Buhari of plot to frame him up and blackmail him.

According to Senate President Bukola Saraki the Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris has ordered the transfer of some  cultists standing trials in Kwara State to Abuja the Federal Capital with the sinister motive of influencing them to change their initial statements and implicate the Senate President Bukola Saraki.

Bukola Saraki made the allegation today May 16, 2018 on the floor of the Nigerian Senate during plenary. He further said the Governor of Kwara State Abdulfatah relayed the information and sinister motive of the Police to him.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Police through a Press Statement confirmed the transfer of the criminals from Kwara State to the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.
The Senate President Bukola Saraki and the Inspector General of Police have been at loggerheads with the Inspector General of Police failing to appear before the Senate on security issues related to the killing of Nigerian Christians by Fulani Herdsmen even after several Summons.

The Senate President has referred to the ugly development as an act of frame up, blackmail, and nepotism capable of undermining Nigeria's Democracy.
